I really love the unique look of this silverware set, with the hammered handles. My husband loves that the fork prongs are symmetrical ;) My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that they are pretty lightweight compared to my other silverware; I think if I tried I could probably bend these. But overall I'm happy with them and will use themOver the past 40 years we have collected an amazing set of everyday silverware from many sets. Over time they bend or break or get lost. We also have a beautiful set of real sterling silverware for dinner parties using our fine china dishes and crystal glassware. Recently my wife had to dip into her precious sterling silverware to restock our wear-and-tear depleted kitchen silverware drawer. This was upsetting.However, this VIVANI set for 8 solved that problem (40 pieces). The sterling silverware has been restored to its special dinner place and the hodge-podge collection has been retired to the junk drawer.We ran the whole set of 40 through the dishwasher (a good idea to do with all new food related items before use). They came out sparkling bright and untarnished.You get 8 dinner knives with serrated cutting edge, 8 dinner forks, 8 salad forks, 8 soup spoons, and 8 teaspoons.This silverware is sturdy and did not bend under testing. The hammered pattern on the handles provided a good grip.Each piece was individually wrapped in a plastic sleeve to protect the mirror bright finish from shipping issues.NOTE: You can order these sets for 4 (20 pieces), 6 (30 pieces), and 8 (40 pieces). The heading will change as you select different set alternatives.Caution: If you switch around looking at the different set offerings, make sure you selected the set you want before you order.I had a disappearing spoon problem -- my pricey hammered antique spoons were getting lost by a person who shall remain nameless but is still sitting in the corner for inadvertently losing them. (I GUARANTEE they went into the peanut butter jars from which he was mainlining it several times a day and throwing into the garbage. I don't need proof because I KNOW). I decided to get a new set of silver and let him lose as much as he wanted. I was so pleasantly surprised by both the price point and the nice look. You wouldn't confuse it with my original dayware (the manufacturer of which went out of business making replacement spoons cost a lot -- and I've replaced about 20 spoons since the peanut butter started appearing, and then disappearing). And of course, at least for now, none have gone missing.This entire service FOR 8 is a steal (for the price of 3 replacement spoons from my good set). If I had a kid in college, this would absolutely be something for their first apartment. And we're talking a 5 piece setting with soup- and tea- spoon as well as meat- and salad- fork and knife. While I wouldn't confuse them with my more expensive set, if I had a large group of people here, I wouldn't hesitate to throw these in as needed. And now, certain people had better not lose any of these, either....For this price, if you're looking for a nice (or extra) silver setting, by all means, grab this.(I have pictured them alone and with the original silver. In the side-by-side, the Silver by VIVANI is on the right and in the top and bottom, the VIVIANI is on the bottom.These are absolutely beautiful! I saw a review that said they didn’t get the amount they were supposed to but I just think they didn’t order the correct amount because I got all 8 sets and I’m soooo obsessed! Especially with kids it’s not easy to have nice things but I can tell after a few weeks of using and washing these will last a long time :) highly recommendThis set of gold silverware for 8 is gorgeous! The utensils are made from stainless steel, which is durable, easy to care for, and won’t rust if left sitting in a damp dishwasher overnight. They wash well in our dishwasher and come out spotless. The gold finish is highly polished and free of specks, scratches, and other defects. The hammered metal handles have a kind of Old World artisan charm. The weight of the utensils feels just right—not too light, and not too heavy.The advertising says this flatware comes packaged in a gift box, but it seemed like just a box to us. It was a sturdy box, though! The utensils were packed well. Each piece was individually wrapped to prevent scratching in transit.We ordered the 8-place setting, which includes 8 teaspoons, 8 tablespoons, 8 salad forks, 8 dinner forks, and 8 dinner knives. They’re shaped nicely, and the handles are easy to hold. We love the polished gold color; it’s distinctive and suitable for any casual or semi-formal dining we might do.Very well made set, detailed and so elegant can’t wait to set up my table for thanksgiving worth the value
