I am originally from Easton, PA, and was visiting my sister, who still lives there, and noticed this book on her end table. One rainy day, I picked it up and started reading it. Straight away, it piqued my interest, as the story takes place in both modern day and the past, and I recognized many of the street names, and local places of interest.Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres, and combining that with the setting of my hometown really interested me. The writing style is very reminiscent of the Jan Karon Mitford series, and about the same length in pages.By the time I had to leave PA and head back to FL, I had read eight chapters, and ordered my own copy from Amazon so I could see how the story ended. I was very pleased to discover that the second book in the Easton series will be out in early July, as I was no where near wanting the story to end.In particular, I liked the way the author moved seamlessly from the past to the present, and vice versa. My sister and brother-in-law, who had the paperback copy, ended up also getting a Kindle version, as every time one wanted to pick up the book to read, the other had it.I highly recommend this book. It will be of interest to those who are into geneaology, as well as a generally good story.
